Abstract

The University of Central Florida invention is a compact robotic system that can enhance surgical precision during orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery. The device, which complements a surgeon’s free hand expertise, can be directly mounted onto a patient’s skull to assist the surgeon in precisely repositioning the jawbone during the procedure.
